Types of relays

- Reed Relays: Uses a reed switch (a small switch inside a glass tube) to operate. The switch has two thin metal strips that are normally separated. When a magnetic field is applied, usually from a coil around the switch, the reeds become magnetised and either move together to close the circuit or move apart to open it.
- Hybrid Relays: These relays combine the features of both electromechanical relays and solid-state relays into a single device.
